Gamification is the strategic attempt to enhance systems, services, organizations, and activities by creating similar experiences to those experienced when playing games in order to motivate and engage users. This is generally accomplished through the application of game-design elements and game principles (dynamics and mechanics) in non-game contexts.
Gamification in education and Game Based Learning, can be particularly effective to engage learners and promote active participation and motivation in the classroom and outside. Participating in this course you will discover both how to integrate game-based mechanics and game thinking to turn the learning process as a whole into a game (Gamification) as well as practical apps and tools to use games as part of the learning process (Game Based Learning).
